Offering for a Monster is a project consisting of a workshop with young adults and a presentation of the work itself. The youth can be seen as a clash between past, present and future. The impact releases a great energy and a monstrous force is created. The monster is that whose form cannot yet be determined because it has not yet been born. The monster is monstrous precisely because its form is a combination that is impossible to determine in advance. To surrender to the monster is to open oneself to the precipice of the unknown that must necessarily arise.
The body that is left behind: an exhibition of portraits. The portraits are the result of the exercise in the workshop based on illuminating the self. The work is a ritual between the old body and the new body, the last being offered as a sacrifice to the audience in the epilogue of the work. Gradually, the bodies of the young dismantle the constructed to become another body, fractal, superimposed and powerful. Throughout the ritual between the two bodies, the piece encompasses worlds, the collective, the past, and the other.
The audience is confronted with a group of young people who dare to open up to the world and its complexity, to explode in desire, to provoke movement, to present us with the exercise of surrendering to the change they bring about in us. Our task: to be ready for them to turn the table with us, to live with them, to try to understand them, to give them space, to support them, to push them forward, to welcome them, to listen to them and care for them.
